Disc Golf Courses

Riverland Community College

This project was applied for all at once, but is broken into two mini-grants for two different disc golf courses.

Both disc golf courses are free of charge to the public. This project will double the access to disc golf in Freeborn County and add an additional recreational facility to the community at large.

The first portion of the grant is for all the disc golf baskets at Bancroft Bay Park in Albert Lea to be replaced with new, standards compliant baskets. The total about of funding approved for this project is $5000 granted to the City of Albert Lea.

The first portion of the grant and the second portion are connected in order to make for the most efficient use of resources possible. The old baskets will be moved over to Riverland Community College to build another disc golf course, which will reside mostly on Riverland property and partly on Albert Lea High School grounds.

The second portion of this grant is for signage to go with the new Riverland Community College course, which is being built with the baskets that will be moved from the 18-hole course at Bancroft Bay Park after new baskets are put in there. The grant for the course at Riverland Community College is for $3000, which will go to the college itself.
