Healthcare
In order to improve the health of Freeborn County residents and reduce health care costs, it is critical that our health care systems make reducing obesity and having an active lifestyle a top priority. Healthy Freeborn County is providing education and training to providers on effective healthy lifestyle strategies, and creating a system for active referral of patients to local resources that increase access to nutritious foods, opportunities for physical activity, and tobacco cessation services.
“Health care” includes any provider of health services or health information in hospitals, clinics, WIC offices, local public health, migrant health services, community worker agencies, and student services.
