The walking school buses are going well. Hawthorne has several and Lakeview has two. The two at Lakeview have community volunteers that walk with kid’s everyday with some parents but also retired neighbors walking as well. If anyone is interested in starting a walking school bus in their neighborhood, call the elementary school in their neighborhood and they can pass along the contact numbers.
